Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Sven Alkalaj Receives UNDP Resident Representative and UN Resident Coordinator in Bosnia and Herzegovina Christine McNab in Her Farewell VisitOn October 22nd, 2009, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Sven Alkalaj received UNDP Resident Representative and UN Resident Coordinator in Bosnia and Herzegovina Christine McNab in her farewell visit.
UN Coordinator McNab congratulated Minister Alkalaj for BiH`s election to the UN Security Council and drew attention to the responsibilities of a country, taking such a position. She emphasized that cooperation between the UN and UNDP and authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina at all levels is good and specified that the UN assistance, among other things, was directed to people and local communities and that this practice should be continued. She also mentioned that Bosnia and Herzegovina undertakes a range of activities in respect to the climate change as well as that they would be more efficient if there would be a single coordination body at the state level.

Receiving the congratulations, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Sven Alkalaj thanked for overall assistance that the UN and UNDP extended to Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Minister specified that the transition process in Bosnia and Herzegovina is ongoing and that all types of assistance, provided by the UN and UNDP, are more than welcome. Minister Alkalaj thanked UN Coordinator McNab for successful personal engagement in Bosnia and Herzegovina and wished her success in her new duty as Deputy Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Iraq.
