The European Parliament adopted the Resolution on inclusion of Bosnia and Herzegovina on the White Schengen List
The European Parliament adopted, on 7 October 2010, on the second day of the Plenary Session, the Report of the Rapporteur Ms. Tanja Fajon, i.e. the Parliamentary Legislative Resolution, on inclusion of Bosnia and Herzegovina on the White Schengen List. Out of 626 delegates of the EP, which voted for the Resolution, 538 voted in favour of the Resolution, 47 were against it, while 41 delegates abstained from voting.
During the presentation, before the voting took place, Rapporteur Ms. Tanja Fajon informed the European Parliament that the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Mr. Sven Alkalaj, as well as the President of the Parliament of Albania are present at voting, which was greeted by the tremendous applause of the European Parliament’s delegates.
Minister Alkalaj is in Brussels for a working visit, on the occasion of the two-day Plenary Session of the European Parliament, and for the same occasion on October 6, 2010 Minister met, in separated meetings, with representatives of political groups, the Socialists and Liberal parties in the European Parliament Mr. Zoran Thaler and Mr. Jelko Kacin.
Following the decision of the European Parliament, the final decision on the inclusion of Bosnia and Herzegovina on the White Schengen List will bring the EU Council.
