About the Mission

Bosnia and Herzegovina joined the United Nations family in May 1992.

Bosnia and Herzegovina is actively present in a number of United Nations programs.

Bosnia and Herzegovina is a member of the UN Human Rights Council / UNHRC for the period 2007-2010.

Bosnia and Herzegovina participates in the UN peacekeeping missions:
Haiti, Liberia, Sudan, Ethiopia, East Timor-Leste, Cyprus and Congo.

Bosnia and Herzegovina is active in UNICEF, UNEP, WHO, UNGASS and other UN agencies such as Ottawa Convention for Banning Landmines and OPCW – Organization of Prohibition of Chemical Weapons.
